The first is referred usually as our "downtown campus" where we have fellowship, worship services, and Sunday School. The last is usually referred as our "APR property" where we have movie nights, picnics, BBQs, or other outside events.

Juan Sossa Concert and Reception
Juan Sossa, classical guitar major at Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Shenandoah University, will  present a concert at First United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.   Following the concert, which will be presented in the sanctuary, there will be a reception in The Gathering Place.  This concert is free and open to the public. Please come and welcome Juan, his wife Diane, and their son, Samuel, to our community. From Columbia, South America, they are a long way from their home and family.  A freewill offering will be taken.

Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser for Heart Havens in memoriam of Jim Green
Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the Northside Lanes, Noon – 3:00 PM 
Fundraiser is for the benefit Heart Havens. The Winchester District United Methodist Men continues the tradition started by Braddock Street UMMen over 25 years ago by sponsoring this year’s Bowl-A-Thon. Our Bowl-A-Thon is in Memory of our longtime UMMen leader and Bowl-A-thon coordinator, Jim Green.

"Crucial Conversations" Book Study
Sunday, January 20th at Noon
Come join us in the Gathering Place for lunch and a book study of the "Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When the Stakes are High".

"Electronic" Tear Sheet
There is a "new" item on our website. Under "Calendar" on the top menu, you see a page labelled "Tear Sheet", look there for sign-ups for events that are happening at our church. All the "Coffee, Lunch, and Dinner" with the Pastor events have been combined in one sign-up list. The tear sheet will be updated constantly so keep in touch.

Transportation Ministry
We are looking for folks who would like to be a part of a transportation ministry. It would involve picking up riders for a Sunday School and 11:00a.m. service and taking them home after the service. The commitment would be for one Sunday every 8 weeks with the flexibility to trade with other drivers when scheduling conflicts arise. Please sign up on the Tear Sheet so that we can contact you.
